This was taken of a unique cupola on top of a home built during the Civil War era! It was used as a viewing point, for scenic beauty, but also for spotting the enemy, if they might approach the area! it also served and a sign of beauty of the historical homes of that period! I loved the old chimney, roof line, and the unique and unusual cupola atop the residence!
As a retired teacher, having taught for 35 years, I spend a lot of time in our many flower gardens, with water features, metal sculptures, and many flowering trees, bushes and shrubs. We were told that most of the homes, where this is, were built during the Civil War. These lookout perches were used to keep an eye out for raids, etc. from the enemy. Was very beautiful and very well kept! Thanks for your feelings about this pic. Means a lot, Doug!
