Artist's Description
While riding on our mopeds, my wife and I spotted this unique silo, of the wooden stave era, and just had to stop and take the photo op we were presented with. I am glad we did, as these historical and structures of antiquity will not last much longer, so wanted to capture this for posterity!
About Randy Rosenberger
As a retired teacher, having taught for 35 years, I spend a lot of time in our many flower gardens, with water features, metal sculptures, and many flowering trees, bushes and shrubs. My wife gave me a digital camera for a Christmas present a few years ago, and I started taking photos of the many types of flora and fauna on our property. This became an enjoyable hobby for me, to enjoy the outdoors, and capture some of the beautiful photo opportunities that our gardens have provided. I especially love close-ups of flowers and insects, and basically anything that has something unique to capture on film. I have entered several contests in our area, and even won some recognition with my photos. I have posted on Face Book and am now...

A historic capture. You don't see wooden silos around anymore. We rarely see other silos as well.

Excellent clarity and lighting and I love the natural framing of the tree branches!

Thanks much Hanne, and surprising enough, we have a half dozen or so of these old wood stave silos in our county, and I think I got all but one, which I plan on getting, if Spring ever gets here. LOL

Juls, I have taken two of these in our county, and the farms have been family farms since the turn of the century, so I am guessing 75 years or more. Check out my profile page, and you will see an older one which in less attractive condition, but still emulates the olden days of true "farming"! Thanks much, Juls, for taking your time to visit and comment, as it means a lot to me!

Thanks Kathleen, as I like older buildings and wanted to catch some of them before they no longer exist. Thanks for viewing.

It is the second wooden one I have captured in a rural area near where we live. There aren't many left, and those that are mostly are in disrepair and falling down. Thanks for viewing and commenting Bruce. I appreciate it.
