This is a photo of a carved tree in the beautiful little village of Iola, Wisconsin. It was carved out of a tree that was taken back, and what was left was what the woodcarvers eyes could see! A Viking with skis, and crafted with chainsaws, chisels, and a lot of skill!
As a retired teacher, having taught for 35 years, I spend a lot of time in our many flower gardens, with water features, metal sculptures, and many flowering trees, bushes and shrubs. My wife gave me a digital camera for a Christmas present a few years ago, and I started taking photos of the many types of flora and fauna on our property. This became an enjoyable hobby for me, to enjoy the outdoors, and capture some of the beautiful photo opportunities that our gardens have provided. I especially love close-ups of flowers and insects, and basically anything that has something unique to capture on film.
