Description
This is truly a "blast from the past" for me, as I used to be a teacher, and as a fun past time, I used to DJ, with only the oldies but goodies. This led to the Elvis impersonations, and then joined two friends, who did impersonations of the Blues Brothers, and the Elvis and Blues Brothers entertaining began. It carried on for about 14 years, then my "suit" SHRUNK! LOL It was time for retirement anyway! Dj Elvis and sometimes together with my Blues Brothers, would perform for such events as the National Wellness Conference, the National Postal Convention, weddings, birthdays, home parties, etc. One of our performances was a benefit for the Fire Departments that assisted in the fire in Iola, WI, which consumed almost half of the west side of main street. There was a "Flashback" which put our firefighters in jeopardy. Thus a benefit was held to raise money for equipment for our fire department to "read" the disposition of the fire, with heat sensor equipment. All the monies raised were donated so the dept. could buy new equipment in the case that the firemen were ever put in this precarious position again. It was a very heartwarming feeling to help in any way we could to ensure the safety of our brave firefighters, who saved the majority of our downtown. And, the last official gig we did was at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin! Then retirement, and and many memories, we are now leisurely enjoying our other hobbies, of which for me, is being an active and integral part of FAA, which I just love, as their are so many great artists out there, and I enjoy meeting and sharing with all of them that I can. What a way to go! And, while not as eloquently as Paul Harvey might put it, "And, now you know the rest of the story" Thank you, Thank you very much!

A wonderful portrait, Randy! I have experienced a similar problem with shrinking clothes despite following the manufacturers laundry recommendations to the letter! That fire with the flashback must have been a nightmare experience! The heat sensor equipment will save lives and prevent serious injury. Burns are terrible injuries because of the pain and terrible disfigurement they cause. Good that you were able to use your talent to raise funds to help buy this specialist equipmemnt! Running this Group on FAA is a great way for you and Carolyn to share your talents with the online community. But don't throw that costume out, though it no longer fits. I have got a whole wardrobe full of shrunken clothes! Nobody would want them now, but they are part of my past. I just wish that they would revert to their former size! Thank you for all that you do on FAA, Randy,

A great image and what a wonderful time for you. Love the outfit! As I recall, we liked all the Elvis' and found it sad that the real" Elvis had his life cut so short! You kept his memory alive. Thank you. Wow!
