Description
This is a shot I could not pass by, on our excursion to Rural, WI, historical tour. We saw a house, built during the Civil War, and well restored, and we saw the old general store, that we stopped by for 20 years ago, that had lunches and snack tidbits, but today is an antique dealer store. When I saw the horse drawn wagon pulling away from the "gas pumps" I was in awe, as when we followed it, we found out soon, that the "gas" pumps were active! LOL Loved the serenity of this Rural village, and its fine and interesting inhabitants! The gentlemen "driving" the horse through the streets of this small community, was ready to go the gamete! He was a tried and true trooper of this village's nostalgic journey through the times from the 1850's through present times. Loved the contrast from old to modern in this photo and many other pics taken that day. Hope you enjoy the whimsy of this piece!

Randy, A very fine capture of this nostalgic yesteryear scene! We might be seeing more of these horse-drawn wagons on our streets, if gas prices continue to go up! LOL L&F

Thanks Robyn. I enjoyed the wagon pulling out of the "gas station/general store" Somewhat comical I thought.

Thanks much Jack, as this was in Rural, a tiny village mostly built during the Civil War, and most homes were decked out and totally restored, so it was a real treat to take the tour.

Thanks John, and I especially loved it when they stopped at the corner store with the Philips 66 sign out front.
