This was being demonstrated at one of the Work Wheels shows held in conjunction with Iola, Military and/or old car show each year. I found it especially interesting as it was nearly 100 years old, and I though that the splitting maul, and the wedge was what they used back then, but with proper ingenuity, skills, and tools to work with, one can concoct almost any useful tool to be used for their benefit and that of some neighbors
As a retired teacher, having taught for 35 years, I spend a lot of time in our many flower gardens, with water features, metal sculptures, and many flowering trees, bushes and shrubs. My wife gave me a digital camera for a Christmas present a few years ago, and I started taking photos of the many types of flora and fauna on our property. This became an enjoyable hobby for me, to enjoy the outdoors, and capture some of the beautiful photo opportunities that our gardens have provided. I especially love close-ups of flowers and insects, and basically anything that has something unique to capture on film. I have entered several contests in our area, and even won some recognition with my photos. I have posted on Face Book and am now...

Thanks Jack, and surely it was a pleasure to see the operator use this machine with ease, and it was a proud operator to be able to show off his prowess in the speed and efficiency of his splitting ability.

Nice piece of farm history; I watched one of these at a farm show in the Racine area a few years back. For its time, state of the art and efficient! Well done, Randy!

You Betcha, and I even trained him to cut my wood, stack it, and stoke the furnace when necessary. And, if you believe that, I still have that Ocean Front Property for sale behind our house. LOL Have a good one, Doug!
