Description
This is an example of a newer hybrid sub zero hibiscus plant that I have referred to in past comments. I was able to capture this one late this fall, before they quite blooming for the year. I planted 6 plants in our gardens this fall, and planted white, pink, and red. They grow basketball sized blooms, and are hardy in zones 3 to 9, which is great for Wisconsin winters. They may be ordered from Michigan Bulb Company, and are shipped in time to be planted in the fall at appropriate time, and if you miss this time, you can order now, and they will ship in early spring. The price is very reasonable, about $25.00 for the 6 plants I ordered, including shipping and handling. They come is bare root, and are easy to plant, and once planted, other than watering and adding a little fertilizer or Miracle Grow to get fantastic blooms, nothing else has to be done. This information is for those who expressed interest in these unusual tropical type plants that can be grown in cold climates. Hope you enjoy, as I will be looking forward to next summer's growth of our new ones. Happy planting!

Ours haven't even broken ground yet, so maybe a 3 year lifetime is all we can expect, or it was just the wrong weather for these plants for Wisconsin winters. Thanks for sharing the progress of yours, as it gives me something to go by. Hope you are still able to hop around, but prayers to you for quick and speedy recovery.

Ours aren't coming up this year after 3 years of hardy growth. Maybe just late with a cool spring, so will have to wait and see. Thanks for sharing, Angela!

And these we do not have to bring inside during the winter, as they come up from beneath the ground each spring. Thank you very much for visiting my galleries and commenting on this shot, as I truly appreciate your time and support for my work, the work of our fine group of artists in the WFS group, and to all artists of FAA. It is truly appreciated, and welcomed! Forever, Elvis
