Description
This photo was taken late fall, just before the first heavy frost, and the cannas were doing fine, so I tried to capture the evidence of the glory of the red florals against the colorful autumnal trees and sky. I liked how the clouds served as my natural background for this shot, with the foliage in its fall glory served as a horizon shot. Hope you enjoy this one of a kind beauty of nature!

Thanks so much, Dawn, and glad you chose this one to comment on, as I love the canna flowers, and they propagate so profusely.. I plant 1o bulbs, and dig up 50 plus. Needless to say, many of my friends grew them too. lol

Fantastic work Randy! I love the focus on the subject against the background and the flowing visual movement of the flower. L/F

Thanks much, as this is one of my faves, the canna lily, and they can grow to over 10 feet tall with proper soil and care! But then you have to dig out the tubers which have multiplied over the year, and you plant 20, you will usually end up with 5 times that for next year.

Super image! Love the brilliant red in the foreground against the more muted autumn colors! v/f/L

Love the color! Interesting perspective. We lost ours to an unexpected frost a few years ago. Thanks for sharing. Vote and fave !
Randy Rosenberger replied:
Usually, in Wisconsin, these tubers have to be dug out and stored for the winter. One year I planted about 200 and ended up with over 1000 tuber, which my fellow teachers were happy to receive. I haven't plant any lately as they are a lot of work in this cold winter state! Thanks Nava Jo for your fave and vote, as I do love the imagery, just not the care involved. lol
