This is one of my first photos I took with my first camera I got as a present from my wife. It was entered in a contest for the National magazine Photo Vibes, and won first place. I have it mounted on my wall with the certificate of award. I was very proud of this accomplishment, especially being a beginner in photography
As a retired teacher, having taught for 35 years, I spend a lot of time in our many flower gardens, with water features, metal sculptures, and many flowering trees, bushes and shrubs. My wife gave me a digital camera for a Christmas present a few years ago, and I started taking photos of the many types of flora and fauna on our property. This became an enjoyable hobby for me, to enjoy the outdoors, and capture some of the beautiful photo opportunities that our gardens have provided. I especially love close-ups of flowers and insects, and basically anything that has something unique to capture on film.
